Came across this story and wanted to share it with you. Positively incredible….
In a zoo in California, a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth.
The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother’s cubs, perhaps she would improve.
After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment. Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only orphans that could be found quickly were a litter of weaner pigs.
P.S. The story of tigeress is apparently inaccurate, although the photos are real. Thanks anonymous for letting me know. 🙂 Check out the link here for the real story behind the photos which is also quite interesting. I’m sad because I SO loved the story!
You look so trendy and gorgeous in your outfit, as always! Guess I’ll have to save some of your pictures for myself! 😀
Ahhhh this is such a stunning post, so cute and cudly together! Your trench is stunning, I never leave home without a trench when I travel. I must just mention that I love your style, could spend hourse scrolling down your outfits and taking inspiration!
Have a lovely day!

Love the post! xx Heather
Thank you, Heather!
I hope you had a relaxing time at your home spa! Happy weekend! 🙂
Hi Jeannie,
Great outfit for a rainy day/week of weather. I’m liking the zips on those jeans too, as well as the trench, shirt, bag and shoes. See, I just like it all! You make the day brighter. x Laura
Hi Laura!
You’re so darn sweet, my friend! Thank you so much!
Hubby and I are going out to Breckenridge the first week in April. I hope there will be some snow left for a little spring skiing?! 🙂
We’re getting all our snow now, so it’s a good thing you waited. Breck is such a great ski town too. Enjoy it!
A tiger and piglets?! How is that possible!? I must say it’s a bit quite risky to take this course of action these piglets is in great jeopardy but the thing here is that it’s “NOT”… I believe the lesson was everything is under the matter of “CHOICE” but you need to have the heart to do what is right and for the betterment…

Oh Jeannie…you always give us beautiful, inspiring stories or something funny at the end of your blog. I really enjoy that…whether its a laugh or a heartwarming story.
Love the trench, it looks like the perfect trench. I’ve been seeking the perfect on. I love the classic plaid lining.
Thank, Lisa!
Glad you enjoy the tidbits….just want to bring a little joy and smile to those who visit. 🙂
what an amazing story about the tiger.
i would love to own the classic burberry trench!
Hi oomph!
You only need one! Definitely worth the investment!
Hi sweet friend, looked at post but not commented lately….usually because in a rush. You look so like a “Bond Girl”…….I have a classic trench that belonged to my aunt. I’ll never part with it. Grew up on a farm and yes, we had piglets amuck! Really, very lovable creatures. You know I love cats so I am so thrilled it’s worked out for her..and those babies got a mama!!! You are gorgeous!.
Hi Judy! Thank you, thank you!!
Bond girl?? lol
No, don’t part with that trench! I doubt it will ever go out of style!
I hear pigs are also very smart! Not really into pigs but these are adorable! 🙂
Love the trench coat and the piglets!!!

Thanks, Janise!
I love the different shades of white of your look !

Thank, Luna!
I’d say it’s quite boring, but I’m usually a boring person anyway…especially compared to you! 🙂
A lovely simple, yet just trendy enough, outfit that suits you perfectly- comfortable and sexy!! My eye was especially taken by the shoes!! I also liked the way you posted the real story behind the tiger photos. It’s interesting to see how legends get started.
Sexy?? haha. Thanks so much!
You know… me and shoes….we have a very special relationship! 😉
Yes, someone saw the photos and decided to fabricate a story, very nice story, indeed! I only wish it were true!
Thank you for that tiger cub story! And for showing off your style on Monday Mingle!
xoxo Nicole
Thanks for hosting! 🙂
Love the trench and you look gorgeous in it, as always. You make me want to go right out and get one. It’s crazy, but I don’t have a trench in my closet!
Thank you, Judith!
It’s a timeless piece, and I’ve no doubt you’ll look smashing in it! 🙂
What is it about those baby pigs?! They’re so adorable! And of course, you look fabulously chic, as always Jeannie!
They are cute, aren’t they?? So clean, too! 🙂
Thanks, Mary!
I love this classic look! That was such a sweet story, anyway, and who knows…it could happen sometime, right? Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and commenting! Debbie
Thanks, Debbie!
I would like to think that it could happen….why not? Happy thoughts!! 🙂
A trench is a wardrobe must have! Love the shoes! What a great & moving story Jeannie!
Zoe xxx
Thanks, Zoe!
So glad you stopped by!
Gorgeous, as always! Reminding me that i need to invest in a decent trench! They are forever…. and are quite handy for half of the year in my part of the world!
Thanks, Daisyfae!
You really should. I can SO see you rockin’ a trench and a fedora! 🙂
You’re so lucky to be rocking the mother of all trenches….the BURBERRY!!
Rebecca

Thanks, Rebecca!
That blouse is a showstopper … it’s the bag that complements it the most. Beautiful, as always.
What a great, sweet story … I’m such a cynic, though. I can’t help worrying what would happen if one of the little tiger skins fell off!
Thanks, Jan!
You’re so funny! Pork chops! Ok, that’s not funny. 😦
Nooooooooooooo … it’s not. But it’s a question that had to be asked. Urk!
those piglets with the tiger are cracking me up
just amazing
love, love the look today
still haven’t taken the plunge on a classic trench yet
brett
Thanks, Brett!
Take the plunge!! 🙂 You only need one, and it will be good for another 20 years!
Jeannie…awesome as always! I especially love the photo with the lining, the shoes, the zipper legs and bag are all in the shot. A great way to exemplify all the details you pulled together for the look. Do you take your own pics or do you have a friend help you? Just curious, as you are always “out and about” in your shots.
xo,
Alyssa
Hi Alyssa! Thank you!
I have to give credit to hubs for taking the photos. He’s such a sport.
Most of the photos are taken on the weekends when we’re out and about….usually for dinner. I don’t cook so we eat out a lot! 🙂
You make a rainy day worth having. Beautiful trench and blouse, and those shoes, O’ the shoes, I do love shoes. Those are some amazing heels and you seem to get around so easily in them.
Thanks, Trina!
You’re my kinda a gal! Can one have enough shoes??? I sound like a teenager! 😉
You look fabulous as always! And I love the beautiful tiger photos. Have you ever seen Christian the Lion’s reunion with his old owners video on you tube? You would love that story, too. Animals are so cool.
Thank you, Katherine!
Yes! I saw that video! It was SO amazing…I actually cried!
This blouse is so gorgeous! I love the trench too. I can’t believe this story. How awesome!

They are killer shoes….for my feet!! Haha, just kidding. They’re actually quite comfy. 😉
Classic and beautiful! And those piggies are so darn cute! xo
Thanks, Susan!
They are cute, aren’t they?? 🙂
Nothing beats a classic Burberry trench!
I agree!! 🙂
Looking good as usual. You cannot go wrong with a trench and I really like that blouse! 🙂
Thanks so much, Kachet! 🙂
Love your Burberry trench. You look wonderful in it! I’m not going to read the real story about the tigress — I liked your version too much. And the pictures are wonderful.
Heather from Friendship, Life and Style
Thanks, Heather!
I wish I hadn’t read the true story either. Although not completely true, this type of adopted relationship does exist among animals so one can hope…… 🙂
Love your outfit. Really inspiring story about the tiger cubs.
Thank you!
Happy you stopped by!
You look lovely in your trench!1
Bummed it wasn’t a true story but the pictures are adorable!! Love knows no color!!
Thanks, Tamera!
I know….I was SO bummed about the story, too. 😦
So stylish! Love the trench.
Visiting you from Monday Mingle.

Very stylish, Jeannie! Black and white is one of my favorites, and I love those shoes!!
Thank you, Patricia!
B&W is one of my fav, too! Yep!
Lovely trench and a wonderful look, nice, soft and elegant. I love the design of your shirt. Your shoes are fantastic.
Thanks so much, Josep! 🙂
You got to love a classic and stylish outfit!
Thanks so much!
You look so classy and elegant. Love the blouse. And these tigress/piglets photos are so touchy and sweet. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Olga!
Thank you! 🙂
I am so tempted to purchase a Burberry trench – so classy! I am just not ready to drop the $$$ since I am not sure I will use it much. Your top is so unique – I love how the back is so fun!
Alice
http://www.happinessatmidlife.com
Hi Alice!
If you can, you should invest in one.
It’s really a timeless piece that will be relevant in 20 years. Just my humble opinion. 😉
What a wonderful tiger story!
And you elegant and stylish also in the rain. You changed your boots against very elegant pumps, I envy you. Here it is still winterly and I have to continue wearing boots.
Thank you, Sabine!
It’s okay b/c you look great in boots!! 🙂
You look so effortlessly chic in your trench. You are inspiring me to dig out a trench that is buried at the back of my closet. I’ve never even worn it!
Regardless of the veracity of the story, your question still stands. Why can’t we all get along? After all, we are supposed to be the civilized species…
Thank you, Diane!
You need to dig out that trench! Asap!
I was so bummed about the story not being true….but, you’re right! We ARE the civilized ones!
Great classic trench and worth every last penny! You will have that for many, many years to come. Love the way you styled it.
Thanks, Adrienne!
I agree! It’s actually about 4 years old and still current. I think it’s a good investment, too. 🙂
I’d seen those photos and story before so was interested to see the “true” story. Still pretty amazing that the tiger didn’t eat the piglets though.
Wonderful outfit! I love the combination of the floaty blouse, the snakeskin shoes with those fabulous rock star jeans.
Thank you, V!
Animals are amazing!…I guess that’s why I love’m so much! Except for rats, snakes and spiders. 😉
Ah sorry the story wasn’t true – I want to believe it anyway : > You look wonderful and that trench is the perfect, classic coat. thanks for linking up!
Me, too! I like the fake story so much more! 🙂
Thank you!
Love the top!! You look wonderful…but you always look wonderful!!
Thank you so much, Pam! So do you! 🙂
So you have rain–we have snow! Many times worse..
Love this blouse–it looks like silk–so pretty from the back!
Oh, I know! What crazy weather you’re having!
Thanks, Paula! 🙂
I love the trench!! I’m sorry the skies have been gray and rainy-wish we had some of that rain though. My family is getting pounded with snow in Kansas! We are dry as a bone.
Thanks, Becky!
I’ll pray some rain your way. What’s with the crazy snow storms lately?? I hope your family’s keeping warm & safe!
You look amazing, but your compassion for animals is your most beautiful accessory. Thank you for sharing the tiger’s story with us!
Spashionista (Alicia)
Aww….thank you, Alicia!
I do wonder if I’m going overboard with animal stories and photos. Glad you like. 🙂
aww..such a sweet story! I have been MIA from ur blog for some time, but everytime I come here, I am inspired and filed with joy with ur style and your amazing stories!! Love this trench!
Thanks you, Jyoti!
I enjoy stopping by yours as well….beautiful as always!
Those piggies are so cute! We have snow here in Boston! You’re looking great in BB!
Thanks, Gail!
I think I’d rather have snow than rain…well, maybe not as much as you guys are getting.
Hope you’re keeping warm!
beautiful day today…more snow forecasted!
What cute piggies! And such a great point about getting along. Luv Burberry, too.
Thank you, my friend!! 🙂
That real story broke my heart. I so much preferred the fake story.
I would love to own a Burberry trench.
You look classy as always : )
bisous
Suzanne
I know!! 😦 I prefer the fake story, too! We can hope!!
Thanks, Suzanne! 🙂
Jeannie, if you ever want to clean out your closet, there’s a girl in Dallas that will take anything and everything. 🙂 My goodness do I ever love your style! That Burberry trench is absolute perfection. You are such a class act. My daughter loved the piglet tiger cubs. What a sweet story.
Haha, I’ll be sure to remember that! 🙂
You are very sweet, thank you! I enjoyed your post on trench coat… you look pretty hot in trench & leopard!
I’m glad your daughter like the cute little piglets!
Awww…what a wonderful story and I cannot believe it! The piglets dressed in tiger stripes! Now…on to your your outfit which I LOVE!!!! Where do I start? The burberry trench is amazing, I bought my first one about 5 years ago in black when Burberry hadn’t converted their fabrics so it’s 100% cotton which has faded horribly over the years. I love that blouse, the back is awesome and the Tod’s D-Bag is a top favorite of mine! One of my favorite handbag designers, I have 2 of their bags.
Thank you, Bessie!
Burberry is the best when it comes to trench!!…imho.
I love this bag, too!… although, I haven’t met a bag I didn’t like….yet! 😉
Burberry is always a classic looking trench. And where do you find all your great stories? This one was amazing…so touching. I wonder how long the “relationships” lasted…
Thank you, Heather!
I have this wonderful “retired” friend who sends me inspiring stories. However, I think this story isn’t accurate. The photos are real tho. I still love the story!
I love your blog and the story but unfortunately, the tiger story isn’t totally accurate (no fault of yours). Snopes.com is a great fact finder site. http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/tigerpig.asp
Thank you SO much for the information!!! I guess I wanted to believe the story. I’ll have to make sure to check the facts next time I want to share a story. Thanks again!! 🙂
Jeannie, if you need a trench coat, this Burberry is the way to go. A classic and good for years.
Now if only the rain would stop here in Atlanta and the sun come out…I’d be less cranky. Although the tiger story definitely cheered me up!
Have a great Sunday!!!
Cheers,
April
Hi April,
Yes, I agree with you….Burberry trench is timeless.
I hope you’re getting some sunshine today in Atlanta! 🙂
Lovely photos and a great trench !
Thank you very much! 🙂
Love the trench. I own a green trench style jacket and would so love to own a Burberry one … and of course, I can’t not mention the shoes – you know my love of shoes. The tigger-piggies are just adorable.
Thanks, Wendy!
I do share your love for shoes….but you know that!!! 😉
I’ve really enjoyed your fashion challenge!
Reblogged this on I * Scream * Ssel and commented:
I wan’t everyone to read this post, especially the one about the pig-cubs. :>
i love what you wore. 🙂 simple but nice.
and, seriously?! the baby pig-cubs story is awesome! ^_^
Thanks, Russ! 🙂
Aw what a sweet story with a great message. Your outfit looks really good. Very sophiscated. The trench…the heels…very nice : ). Hope you have a lovely day. God Bless
Hi Bre! Thank you!
It IS a great message, but I’m afraid the story was inaccurate. My bad. But the photos are real, and I’d like to think the story could be possible….
I just love Burberry and watched the Burberry Prorsum Show at LFW only a couple of days ago. No, not first row… via livestream only 😉 Fantastic as always!
Thanks for the wonderful story.
Annette
Lady of Style
Hi Annette!
I do love Burberry!….bags, shoes, clothing…but, they’re the king of trench coat, aren’t they?? 🙂
Noting like Burberry trench coats! and what a lovely story… Sara
Thank you, Sara! 🙂
Oh, that is so sweet!!! I’m just gushing over this sweet story. And you’re so right, why can’t we all get along like this?
Oh, did I tell you how classy you look in your trench?? Lovely too!
Thanks so much, Joni!
I’m afraid the story isn’t exactly accurate (as someone pointed it out after the post), but I loved it, too! It could be true….
Oh geez, you still upstage the striped creatures, but boy are they adorable. I am a Burberry fan from way back, and it’s a good thing…what is with this rain? You look amazing! Sun tomorrow…
Hardly….but thank you!
Yes! It’s sunny today!
I’m not surprised you’re a Burberry fan….I’m pretty sure I’ll love your closet!! 😉
I love the baby pigs! That trench is perfect, love it (way more than the piglets)!
Thanks Caroline!
I’m not a pig person, but the piglets are pretty darn cute! 🙂
