Hello, my friends!
I’m having a great year so far! How about you? A song just popped in my head….”We’ve Only Just Begun…” remember the Carpenters? Some of you? 😀
Soooo, while tangerine was the color of 2012, I hear emerald green is the color of the year for 2013!… according to Pantone LLC.
“Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.” ~ PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald
Okay, I’m on the wagon! One of my favorite jackets ~ not exactly emerald green but green nonetheless.

You know, if your blog didn’t mention that you’re 50, I would’ve thought you’re in your mid to late 30s. Love your edgy style. Very contemporary and totally cool!
Oh, you ‘re too kind! Thank you so much, Marlene! 🙂
Wow! You look amazing! Hope you will have time to check my blog that I recently started at http://olivastyle.tumblr.com/!
Hello Oliva!

Hi Karollyn!
Thank you soooo much! 🙂 Haha, how I wish I were a teenager!
love the shoes and jacket!! great to hear you’re having such a good time
Thank you, Iris!
So good to hear from you! 🙂
First of all, I love everything about your outfit! Perfect for winter, casual but glamorous. Just perfect! As for emerald, I really like the color and have a couple Kelly green pieces, but whether or not I get any more emerald remains to be seen.
Thank you, Heather!
I’m lacking green in my closet, too. I can’t wait to see what will be avail. for spring.
I’m also excited about b&w trend for spring – now that, I have! 🙂
I absolutely love green, it’s always been my favorite colour so I am glad it’s going to be finally making it’s round to the colour of the season. What a gorgeous bridge in Japan and I’ve always dreamed of owning a white pure bred arabian horse.
I’m quite sure you’ll look fabulous in green!
Oh, wouldn’t it be just wonderful to own a horse like this? Such a beautiful animal!
loved your jacket!!
beautiful pics 🙂

Happy New Year!
I’m thrilled to hear that emerald green is the color for 2013, it’s such a beauty. But for winter your olive green is perfect, especially how you assembled the entire outfit. And those boots! LOVE them.
Thank you, Trina!
Glad you stopped by! 🙂
What a beautiful email! The pictures are stunning.
I love your casual outfit. It looks warm, comfortable and chic.
Cheers,

Glad you like the beautiful photos.
Hi Jeannie!! Sorry I haven’t been in touch! Hope your holiday season was joyous. I love the colors and textures in this outfit. You look classy, glamorously-casually chic!! Joey’s not performing locally for awhile, but I’ll definitely keep you informed! Thank you for mentioning it 🙂
Hi Jean!
Thank you! I did have a wonderful holiday!
Yes, please let me know…I’d really love to come see him and finally meet you!
Beautiful colors in the scarf/jacket/boots. This is a great look. One of my faves.
I’m glad your year is starting out on a good note. I know some may think The Carpenters are cheesy, but I’ve always loved their music and just can’t help singing along when I hear it. (I like John Denver songs too. shhhh…) : ]
Thanks, Lisa!
The Carpenters are NOT cheesy! I love their songs! I like John Denver, too! How about Captain & Tennille? “Love, Love Will Keep Us Together…”, “Do That To Me One More Time….” Haha! I’m singing it now! 😆
The green jacket is great, and the boots with leopard print scarf really take your ensemble to another level.
Merci, Judith! 🙂
OMG that jacket is just too much
The rufflely edges, those fabulous cuffs
I see why you love it so much
And the boots too…..
You are just too hip and cool today!
Brett
Ooh, I love hip & cool!
Thank you SO much, Brett!
Emerald is gorgeous on you! Love that blazer! 😀
Thanks, sweetie! 🙂
I adore green in any variety so I am looking forward to this year!!
Love your outfit- especially the play of the subtle zebra on your top and the leopard of your scarf
Thanks, Tamera! This is about as bold as I get with pattern mixing. 😀
I can’t wait to see the shades of green that we’ll be seeing around the fashion world this year. Emerald green is so lush! It should be fun!
Who wears olive green better than you? NOBODY! Not a color I think of as girly, but you make it absolutely feminine.
Beyond gorgeous photos … thank you so much for sharing. Can’t wait to see what you get up to in 2013!
Jan,
You are so so sweet! Thank you! 🙂
I’m definitely on board. I love emerald, teal, turquoise every shade of it.
Your jacket with the ruffles is beautiful, especially the ruffles! You look fabulous as you always do, Jeannie!
Thanks, Sabine!
I’m sure you look great in shades of green! You’ll have so much to chose from this year!
Happy Green Year!
Your jacket is lovely! You look sooo elegant! x

She is very beautiful! Her eyes….wow!
Your eyes are prettiful too! x
Lovely outfit Jeannie. So chic. And I love the use of your scarf. You should submit (with another outfit) to my scarf challenge! http://40plusstyle.com/dressing-challenge-results-new-challenge/
Thanks, Sylvia!
Sure! I would be happy to! Thanks for the invite!
Love the detailing on the jacket Jeannie. You look fab! We should hook up to do a fashion challenge one day 😉
Thank you!
Yes we should! As long as the challenge is not too difficult! 😀
Yes, i remember that song! Seems like “only yesterday” when it was a hit! i think you will look fabulous in emerald green — but that color on the jacket looks pretty awesome, too! Oh, and the boots… Those boots! Zoicks!
Haha, Zoicks?
Isn’t it pretty crazy how old we are? Seriously! That song was a hit in the 70’s!!!
I have nothing in emerald green…..except for a ring. Will have to see what’s out there. Gotta follow the trend, right? Nah, just kidding. I’m assuming we’ll be seeing a lot of green this year.
We’ve Only Just Begun was my senior song in high school…ah, memories!! I love this jacket so much…would love to find one just like it! You look great, but you always look great. My 2013 has been a bit stressful so far…looks like a year that will need much prayer!
It’s a great song, isn’t it?
You’ve been very busy with so much happening in your life. I hope things will settle down soon.
Sending prayers your way, Pam.
Have a fabulous week!
Holy Great Hair Day!!!!
Fab jacket – lucky that Panetone arranged a color that you look gorgeous in – very considerate of them!
xo reversecommuter
LOL!
Yes, how considerate!
Do you think they’ll ever pick black as a color of the year?? Now, that’s my color! 🙂
Fabulous ruffled jacket, Jeannie. And the boots too are so great. Thanks for sharing your look, and the slide show, with VisibleMonday!
Thanks Patti!
I love the boots!
Thank you!
I’m a fan of emerald green…so I’m in! Lovely jacket and of course I remember that song and the Carpenters!!
Great song! An oldie but a goodie!
I’d love to see you in emerald green! 🙂
What a perfect list of really beautiful things! Emerald green, I am SO excited about this colour trend! I know you will show us some great stuff in emerald to inspire us in the coming months.
Well, I’m not surprised that you love green!
You give me too much credit, but thank you!
I don’t have many “green” in my closet, but I’m excited to see what’s available.
Have a fabulous week!
I love your scarf and your boots are beautiful. The jacket has a very nice pattern. A nice casual outfit.
Thank you, Josep!
Happy New Year to you!!!!
Your new bag is settling right in and it looks gorgeous! Tell hubby that his photography continues to knock me out. Well done! Love the way you’ve done green. Another inspiring outfit. 🙂
x Laura
Thanks Laura!
I’ll relay your message to hubs. He’ll appreciate that very much.
Yes, the bag is settling in JUST right! 🙂 We’re becoming fast friends! 😉
Jeannie….I always enjoy the positive messages and images you do at the end of your post. All of those images are certainly very beautiful.
I can see why that jacket is one of your favorite items; its pretty awesome. Your boots……I almost screamed when I saw them. OK…well, maybe didn’t almost scream, but wanted to……..they’re divine. You have such great taste.
It’s so okay to scream. I do it ALL the time! haha
Thank you for your sweet words, Lisa.
I thought about you during the holidays…I know how difficult it can be.
Beautiful outfit. I’m not much of a emerald person but what the heck! If I jump on the wagon now it’ll take two years to be popular in Indiana so I’ll get a lot of wear out of it! Your email was lovely. Thanks for sharing.
LOL! You’re just too funny!
It won’t even come to my town in 3 years but that’s not stopping me!
Happy week to you!
Wonderful look head to toe. I especially love the patterned top paired with the patterned scarf. I am such a fan of pattern mixing. Kudos beautiful lady!
Paula
Thank you, Paula!
Means a lot coming from you. ❤
Have a great week!
I love green on you! I do think it’s a great color for us brunettes!
Thank you, Nout!
Yes, I think you would look beautiful in green, too! 🙂
Jeannie, what a beautiful post! I love your jacket, but I love your scarf and boots even more! Happy Sunday!
Thank you, Patricia!
If you knew how comfortable these boots were, you’d love it even more.
Have a beautiful week, my dear!
Lovely photographs, great outfit. And,as you know, green is my favorite color! Vancouver has been on my Bucket List of places to visit for years. 2013 might just be the one!
Happy New Year – and keep on creating those amazing posts!
April
Thank you so much, April!
Vancouver is also on our list, too!
Happy New Year to you! 🙂
Hi dear,
My turn to wish you a Happy New Year! I hope you have had a fantastic Holiday time with your family!
……. So good to be back to the world of blogging after a crazy month of hosting company, cooking and chatting late in the evening…. You know what I mean.
You look fabulous with your green jacket and your lovely scarf. Always stylish and trendy: you are fantastic!
Sorry. I won’t be on board with you. Dark green makes me look sick as if my skin was turning green too (LOL).
Have a lovely day 🙂
Anne Touraine (Playing with Scarves)
PS 1. I do remember the Carpenters…… Feeling suddenly old 😦
PS 2. About the most beautiful horse in the world: no doubt, it is the Arabian!
PS 3. You should try the turban again – with your hair up. I am sure you would look fantastic!
Hi Anne!
Glad to see you back!
I highly doubt you look sick in green. Nah…
I will play with it some more….this time with my hair up. Thanks for the advice, although, I’m still gonna look stupid. 😉
Starting with beautiful places, people, animal and plants and of course the beautiful you, what a nice way to start the first week of the year!
Awww…so sweet! Thank you!
Have a beautiful week!!

Emerald is such a powerful color and makes for great outfits.I so like your thoughts on making this day the most beautiful of all.Happy new year!
Happy New Year, Angie!
Maybe you can crochet something in emerald green?! 🙂
What a beautiful outfit Jeannie! I love the subtle animal print of your top with your animal print scarf! For some reason, I don’t have a lot of green in my closet – it maybe time to add more 🙂
Thank you, Alice!
I don’t have very many green either. I shall join you in acquiring a few more! 😉
I love this outfit ! You really make me want to start actually caring about what I wear. You have so much style !
Hi sweetie!
Thank you! Is that a good thing?? 😉
It is a good thing ! I usually just put on the simplest things but I should really try to look my best : )
You’re always so positive and inspiring. I look forward to your posts every week. The ruffle collar on this jacket is simply gorgeous and your scarf is beautiful too. All of the pics were a visual delight. Loved this post!
Such sweet words. Thank you so much!
Have a wonderful week, Alison!
Wow, this post was a visual delight. Vancouver IS amazing, and I agree, middle eastern people do have the most beautiful eyes. And I’m thrilled to report that I just bought a pair of Tory Burch jeans (on sale) in bright emerald green!! Now that I have them, I’m feeling the challenge of what the heck to wear with them, but I do love them. Black sweater, black boots, ho hum, but it will work. Love your outfit, especially the boots…well, especially everything!
Happy First Week, Jeannie!
Elisa,
I’d love to see your jeans! I bet they’re pretty!
I suggest a fashion post to show us your stuff! Yes??? Pleeez? 😀
Oh my gosh, I’d scare everyone away…I can’t pose for a picture without making a face! Although my daughter is good with the camera, maybe one day we’ll have a little fun and see what happens. You will be the first to know if I pull it off!!
Nitey!
Elisa
Yes yes yes! Can’t wait! 🙂
GORGEOUS photos! The waterfall, the little girls eyes .. so much beauty;) I’m on-board with the greens .. I better get shopping! Great jacket!
xxleslie
Most of my green stuff are all earthy green….no emerald green here. I’ll join you for shopping! 🙂
I can see why the jacket would be a favourite! It’s gorgeous and so are the boots! Glad your year is off to a good start, Jeannie.
Thanks Elaine!
So far so good….first week! 😆
