Broken hearts

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”  ~ Matthew 19:14

Jesus & child

As our nation tries to make sense of the devastating tragedy that occurred in Newtown, Conn. on Friday, I’m keenly aware of the overwhelming sadness that’s crept into this mother’s heart.  The anticipated Christmas preparations and my daily worries seem so trivial in the light of this horrific event.  I cannot fathom the unimaginable pain the families of the victims are facing.  I cry with them….

May we, as a nation & humanity, pray for God’s grace for those whose lives are forever afflicted by this evil act.

send a prayer to heaven

And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest on me.  ~ 2 Corinthians 12:9

Amen.

  1. Beautiful post. Thank you for sharing love, prayers and blessings and for this scripture “And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness”. Truely our hearts weep and send hope and love to the families in need. May God’s divine angel protection be upon all of our lives each and every day. Thank you for so much for stopping by My Journal of Praise and liking posts.

  2. Thank you so much for this beautiful post. I wake up every morning with a feeling of dread. What is this world coming to? Like you a lot of joy has been sucked out of Christmas, but as a Christian I believe I must put my faith in God. There is no safety in this life. It’s all illusion. There is only safety in God.

  3. You have expressed my sentiments; this horrific crime is devastating, and the families will miss their children for the rest of their lives. May God comfort with the assurance that heaven is a wonderful place. We will suffer here a little longer, but in His presence is fulness of joy! There is no more death, no more sorrow, no more pain in heaven.

May we know in our hearts the reason for Christmas, that Jesus came to save us and through faith in Him, we too, shall behold Him when the day comes for us to leave this earth, and God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes.

  4. I appreciate the post you have written and the kind thoughts that you have expressed. I have been so heartbroken over the news in CT. Seeing posts like yours brings a small amount of comfort. There are good people, with good hearts that care so very much.

  5. Especially in times of such evil acts – we should also be like them where they are always so diligent in creating so much chaos, we should also be diligent and be stronger than ever. Let’s make like Care Bears and shine our light to cast away all evil! (((( SHINE ))))

  6. My personal solidarity with all who suffer in your nation. Your message is beautiful. Some things never entendermos, especially where you can leave an evil so great. I would criticize some things, but now it’s time to help those who weep for their children. An embrace fraternal.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it very much!
