Christmas is just around the corner and I’ve been slack on everything from shopping to decorating our home. I’m one of those people who waits until the last-minute then scrambles around like a headless chicken. I like to live on the edge…what can I say? Whilst my head is swirling, I’m doing my best to look calm and carefree….for blog sake. Yes, I’m that dedicated! You believe me, don’t you? 😆

Jacket: Tibi Jeans: Joe’s Jeans Shirt: Ann Taylor Shoes: Juicy Couture Bag: Gucci
How about you? Are you a procrastinator like me, or have you been ready for Christmas since July? For you early birds, you don’t know what you’re missing! Ahhh…..the exhilaration of last-minute hoopla! 😆
On a side note, son & daughter came home to visit with their fur-kids last weekend. Thanks to unseasonably mild weather, we were able to enjoy some outdoor time. Boy, did our doggies have fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love the jacket and shirt! You look smashing!
Jeannie, those jeans look sooooo cozy. I love the shot of the Gucci bag, all the photos are fab, you look so cute!!! xoxo
Still have not got our tree up. We hope to pull a marathon this weekend. Nice pictures!
The shoes! A touch of leopard is always divine. You look calm, cool and collected.
I’m simplifying for the holidays this year and it feels good. More contemplation and less anxiety. Trying something new!
Christmas fever is all around the world at the moment.I have the same kind of shoes and I’ve never worn them with my jeans.I also like your bag.I always love cucci bags.
Hi Jeannie.
D – 10!!!! – Adding to your stress ?!. and to mine for sure as I have only bought one gift so far and need many more.
My last minute plan A: an envelop with a note in it: “good for getting a…” Plan B: “dear all I have had a terrible flue for weeks. Apologies. Will offer double gifts next year”. LOL!
Your combination of beige, black and white is really gorgeous. Very stylish and elegant.
Merry Christmas to you and your beloved, including your fury friends.
xoxo,
Anne (Playing with Scarves)
You’re too funny!
I LOVE your gift ideas! haha
Thanks Anne! Merry Christmas to you and yours! 🙂
A little something for you: http://decamvilledesign.wordpress.com/2012/12/14/day-306-thank-you-sharing-the-awards/
Thank you, Patricia! ❤
🙂
I’ve been slack too, Jeannie. It’s okay to just enjoy your kids and your fur-grandbabies.
Love the casual outfit….
Thanks Lisa!
I shall do my best not to stress and enjoy the season!
Happy weekend to you!
I tend to be on the more organised side. You have to hold me back to get the Christmas tree – we got it last weekend but I wanted to get it 1st December! My husband thinks I’m such a child, I love decorating the tree so much. I’m a bit less advanced with the Christmas shopping – husband and I were due to do it today but it’s pouring with rain, so we’ll do it on Monday. I’ve finished work for the year so I’ve got a week and a half to do the food shopping, write the Christmas cards and get the house spotless for all the guests trotting in and out over the joyous festive period!
I don’t think I’ll be looking as chic as you for all of this, though – it’s sweatpants and sneakers for the next 3 weeks!
You sound like my hubs. He’s ready to put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving.
Good luck with your shopping! I’ll be out and about this weekend to finish up. I have no more time as I will be on the road next weekend.
Sweats?? I change into them as soon as I get home from work!
Btw, your shopping ban is almost over! Yay!
Jeannie.
This is insanely stylish. So beautiful – love the jacket. YOU are my inspiration!!!

Thank you so much!
Edita, you are a SWEETIE PIE!
I love your classy carefree style of dressing and of course the shoes. I’ve mixed feelings about Christmas, for my staff I got their presents ready since October but for my loved ones, I cannot decide until the last minute and so I shared your exhilaration of last minute shopping. the shops got undue advantage of us by then. thanks for sharing and I am glad to have found your blog. 🙂
Hi SJ!
I’m so glad to meet you, too!
I find it very difficult to shop for family, too. I’m sure it’s b/c I want it to be something special. Hopefully I’ll have some success this weekend.
I’m also trying to remember the true reason for the season. Don’t want to get caught up in commercialism too much. 🙂
Oh, Jeannie, can I relate to your waiting till the last minute mindset! I’ve got to get moving 🙂
As always, you look fabulous! Love your shoes!
I guess you and I will be doing the same thing this weekend? Too bad we couldn’t meet and shop together.
I’ll be thinking of you while I fight the crowd.
Happy shopping! 🙂
You make look frazzled awesome. I don’t look like this when I am stressed , it doesn’t matter if you leave it the last minute – it will get done. I rather enjoy the time and be crazy for a few days instead of the whole holiday season. This is my kind of outfit!
Carrie
Hi Carrie!
Thank you! I like the way you think! I’ll dedicate this weekend to be crazy. 🙂
Love your outfit! So glad I found your blog!
Thank you, Susan!
Happy to meet you! 🙂
nice!
Thanks!
you rock the casual look, as always, but the shoes kick it into high stylin’! i don’t do much for the holidays anymore – but what i DO put togehter is just for my own entertainment, since i’m mostly an ’empty nester’. much less stress this way! enjoy the slack! have a cookie – other people love to bake ’em!
Haha yeah! I don’t do much in the way of cooking or baking. I have a great baker who makes all my desserts for me. So much easier.
I do miss having little ones around. Christmas isn’t the same when only thing my kids ask for is money. 😦 I miss Toys R Us!
what a great outfit
i love that green in your shirt
i am just sort of taking the whole christmas thing one day at a time
it is a lot different this year with both kids in college
i feel oddly very calm and together (right now) ha
brett
Thanks Brett!
I hope you have a wonderful time while your kids are home!
The shoes are great with this outfit! I was totally distracted by the dogs though! So cute:)
No, no competing with doggies! They are waaaay too cute!
I’m like you…waaay behind. But I like your cool-cucumber approach and the fun two-tone jacket (kinda varsity-ish, but longer and more useful). Your son’s dog is growing up nicely. What a cutie. So wonderful to see the family shots!
x Laura
Hi Laura!
Yeah, I kinda like the jacket, too….it’s different.
Maya is growing up! She’s so smart and super athletic! It’s crazy to watch her play in the leaves…so cute!
Getting pics of my family is like pulling teeth…..I have to either bribe or threaten them! 😆
Jeannie!!
Those last pics of all the fur-kids {and your real kids} are awesome! And completely drooling over your bag!
I totally wait till the last minute, but I feel like I’m running out of energy to keep doing that run around like a crazy person last minute shopping! I really DO need to start in July!
xo, sam
**Style of Sam**
Hi Sam!
I have NEVER been ready for Christmas before Thanksgiving. I just can’t get into it before then….it’s a weird hang up of mine. Hubby, on the other hand, hates to wait till the last minute. He refuses to go with me and fight the crowd…bah, humbug! He does a lot of online shopping…….smart man! 🙂
I love your bag ! And the shoes are beautiful !
http://selenite.weebly.com
Merci beaucoup! 🙂
You look calm, collected and FABULOUS!!!!
AAAAAWWWW–adorable furkids and fur-grandkids!!
Thank you, Tamera!
Adorable, they are! 🙂
What fun to spend time with the “kids” and grand-doggies. All of your photos are so darn sweet!
Paula
It IS fun! I’d rather hang out with our kiddos & fur-kids than anything else….well, maybe do that at the beach! 🙂
Aw, what precious puppies. This looks like a fun family gathering! We are hardly decorated either, but I’ve decided that’s ok. 🙂
Well if it’s okay for you, it’s okay for me, too!
I’m delegating decoration duties to hubby this year. Poor man, he cooks and now he has to decorate! haha
Please send some calm my way, please!
Love the look!
Elisa
🙂
I just did! Did you get it???
Happy calm day to you! 🙂
I’ll be out at the malls this weekend so if you happen to see a crazed lady running around, come say hi!
I love the leopard accessories of this casual look…and the pearls. Classy and edgy all at once! Happy to see you have had some great family time…with the doggies too!
Thanks Heather!
Time spent with kids & doggies….a description of my perfect weekend!
Well, you look so composed that I would never guess you aren’t completely calm all the time–much less that you are 50! Love the shoes, especially! My short cut on Christmas: I try to do for people who aren’t expecting it–the doctor, the newspaper delivery person, the housekeeper. People I can’t live without, but who may not realize how important they are. My philosophy is that friends and family care for each other all year long. That is, itself a gift! You look fabulous! Thanks for commenting on my blog today! For the longest time, I feared that I was the only person my age who loved fashion blogging. So nice to meet a kindred spirit.
Hi Crystal!
Glad to have found you, too!
I love your perspective! Thanks for reminding me to thank the forgotten people who make my life a little easier.
You look chic for your headless-chicken shopping. But then you always look good. Have fun scrambling. I’ll be doing the same LOL!
I’ll be out in full force this weekend! I have a feeling you would make a one hell of a shopping partner! 😉
We’d both be headless chickens running around the mall LOL!
That beautiful necklace Jeannie! Today, we see the more casual Jeannie, daring and youthful, perfect. I really like the jacket and the shirt, make a great team. The bag and shoes are wonderful, are beautiful. A good combination of casual and elegant. Maybe have a little cold in the knee … 🙂 🙂 🙂
Daring and youthful is good! I feel old at the moment, but I don’t want to look old.
Haha, I’m tough! My knees can handle a little breeze. 😆
Gorgeous as always! I’m so inspired by you. Hey, when you get tired of that bag I know this girl in Texas that would be happy to take it off your hands. 🙂 Thanks for putting the last minute rush into perspective. There’s something about that whirlwind of activity right beforehand that’s very motivating!
Hey sweetie!
Thank you! Don’t you know the special bond between a woman and her accessories?? 😆
I’ll be sure to remember you when I’m tired of the bag. You may have to fight my daughter for it. 🙂
When I first read the name of this post I thought it said Calm and Crabtree! Lol! Perhaps I’m considering purchasing a gift there and that was a subliminal signal?? ..or maybe just a LONG work day coupled with eyes that don’t focus well;)
I have the same jeans and love them. I need to pair them with some pumps like yours ~love the look!
Might you be working too hard????
I was banned from computers yesterday. My eyes were SO dry and painful. Gotta tell ya, getting old xxxxx!
Comfy jeans! I love them, too!
If it wasn’t for my little one, I would be in the same boat – we are all decorated. I still need to do Christmas cards & shopping for presents. You sure do look cool calm & collected!
Alice
http://www.happinessatmidlife.com
Thank you, Alice!
I may look calm but watch out for me this weekend! I’ll be bull-dozing around the mall like a crazy old lady!
I’m gonna leave the decoration to hubby this year. Oh boy!
I love this bag, and the pictures are beautiful! Living close to water, whether sea, river or lake, is the only way…
Thanks Sara!
I’m blessed to be able to live on the lake and couldn’t ask for more. There’s something about being around water that soothes my soul. I am an Aquarius……wonder if that has anything to do with it? 😉
I am sure it has a lot to do with it.. My daughter, who is also an Aquarius, loved water from the day she was born. Today she is a certified diving instructor..
Have a wonderful weekend! Sara
Just like I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like dogs (or that dogs don’t like), I’m suspicious of anyone who gets all their Christmas shopping done early. So annoying. You look as calm as if you really all organized, and that’s what counts!
And the best stuff is out for us to buy just before Christmas … who can think of it in July?
Looking good, as usual. You make leopard work like nobody else.
Thanks Jan!
I actually know of friends who start their shopping in the summer…..NOT kidding! They just pick up few things here and there and are just cruising when December comes around. They say it helps spread the money and less stress this way. I totally get it, but I just can’t do it until I see the holiday decorations all over the malls & stores….that’s just me.
Those lovely shoes just give your decorating outfit a nice, “got it under control” kind of air.
So strange, I “liked” as myself and then the comment came as Anonymous. Ooops.
Hey Anonymous! haha
I feel out of control at the moment but gotta look the part, right?
Your Christmas decor is really nice! If I had the time, I’d love to try to make one.
Thanks, glad you like the decorating. My nails and shoes will probably get neglected now, but hey, something’s gotta give somewhere!
I’m like you Jeanie!
Why rush. You’ve got time.
I don’t like to wait until the last minute, but I’m in not in a hurry to get it done.
Hi Amy!
I should be used to it b/c I do this every year.
I hope you, hubby & the girls have a wonderful Christmas! 🙂
you too Jeanie!
I like the way you think. We’re not procrastinators. We just like the last-minute exhilaration, haha. Regardless, you look fantastic as always. Great shoes!
Haha, yeah! Anyway we can get some excitement in our lives, right?
I’ll be out in my walking boots this weekend….watch out!
beautiful pics, simply love your dog!
and nice leopard shoes 🙂
xoxo

Thank you, Ingrid!
I love your pup, too!
I’m guessing all the fur babies are in charge of the household!!!! I so love fur parents. You look divine, always. I wore my leopard heels tonight, for a casual Christmas party…..skinny jeans, pink sweater, pearls, dressy but comfy. Nope, not much shopping done at all. Fiday night is my girlfriend party and I’ve been working non stop to clean and decorate. I’ll need to wrap fake gifts to put under the trees! lol. I’ve decided Christmas is a season of experiences, not just a day. So, no hurry to rush . You look so darn good, being 50 is not so bad. You’re hotter than any 25 year old. Strut your stuff girlfriend. I want to follow your lead, loves ya, j.
Hi Judy!
Yes, we spent hours cleaning the house after fur-kids left but SO worth having them around. Fun!
I’ll be out this weekend running around shopping…think of me when you’re having fun with your girlfriends!
Thanks for being so darn sweet, I DO appreciate your friendship!
