Denim and leather, what could be better?!

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Lord, so often times, as any other day

When we sit down to our meal and pray

We hurry along and make fast the blessing

Thanks, amen.  Now please pass the dressing

We’re slaves to the olfactory overload

We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold

But Lord, I’d like to take a few minute more

To really give thanks to what I’m thankful for

For my family, my health, a nice soft bed

My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head

I’m thankful right now to be surrounded by those

Whose lives touch me more than they’ll ever know

Thankful Lord, that You’ve blessed me beyond measure

Thankful that in my heart lives life’s greatest treasure

That You, dear Jesus, reside in that place

And I’m ever so grateful for Your unending grace

So please, heavenly Father, bless this food You’ve provided

And bless each and every person invited.

Amen!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Can we say ~ too much turkey?

  1. Everything looks so beautiful on you, Jeannie. You are such a gorgeous woman. That jacket looks super soft and comfy.

I always love the pictures (the funny/cute ones). That pup is just too adorable!

  2. Jeannie!

I AM IN LOVE with this look!! You are one fine urban cowgirl – so FAB!!!! And I would love to help with any recommendations for Europe! Mr. S and I have been to a couple of places (we lived in Germany for 3 months) so just let me know!

  3. That puppy is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I was all poised to write how much I love your jacket and the outfit looks great and then I forgot everything when I saw that little beastie!

  4. (Trying again … WordPress does not love me.) Looking beautiful, again, and as always. So cute boots … I’m fixated on boots and booties this week. Because of your post I dug out a similar tan leather jacket and made plans to take it out to lunch with newer pieces this very week. Thanks again for the inspiration. Have a great post-holiday week.

  5. Thank you SO much everyone!
I’ve been MIA for a bit….eating, traveling, playing, but NO shopping! I just could NOT fight the crowd this year. I guess as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become wiser! 😉

  6. I’m obsessed with that jacket and those wedges! Oh Jeannie, you have a seriously enviable closet my dear. Thanks for the nice comments on my blog. I’m a bit MIA right now since I’m working at Bloomingdale’s for the holidays–and I’m in accessories this time so I am spending A LOT of time with bags and jewelry!–but I wanted to stop by and say hello. Adrienne and I are focusing on plaid for December’s How I Wear My post. Do you own any? You can send a picture to either of us if you want to join in the fun. Adrienne is hosting this time. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. XO, Jill

  7. Cute shoes and Wonderful Prayer. I love it and I find it so true. I need to think about that every single day. No rushing during prayer ! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving : )

  8. Perfect!!! I need a jacket that color. Really, don’t need anything and so thankful for what I have. Enjoy this holiday girlfriend. Hug that Tobi for me. Maybe put jacket on Christmas list…..

  9. You are playing my tune with this outfit! There’s not a thing about it that I don’t LOVE! And you wear it fabulously!!! Happy Thanksgiving!! Serene

  10. Everyday more casual, but always stylish. I’m getting used to seeing a Jeannie carefree, youthful and daring. It was not the first idea I had from you, but I love it. Your outfits are beautiful and brave. The jacket and the boots from today are beautiful and the whole set is very nice and balanced. But look at the first picture poster “no trespassing” … The most classic Jeannie is perfect. 😉 🙂

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it very much!
