Always look up

Hello everyone!  Hope you’re having a good week!

Just wanted to share this wonderful message.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE BUZZARD
If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner.  The Reason is, that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of  10 to 12 feet.  Without the space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

THE BAT

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place.  If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air.  Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE BUMBLEBEE
A bumblebee, if dropped into a open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out.  It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom.  It will seek a way where non exists, until it completely destroys itself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PEOPLE

In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee.  We struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look up!  That’s the answer, the escape route and the solution to any problem…just look up!

Sorrow looks back,

Worry looks around,

But Faith looks up!

Live simply,

love generously,

care deeply,

speak kindly,

and trust in our Creator, who loves us.

Thanks for reading, and God bless you!

  1. A sweet yet profound reminder! Thank you Jeannie… I love your name…Gracefully50…yea! I’m right there too 😉 I am also an intercessor at my church, looking forward to more ministry in my future.I have been following Sara’s blog and I have a blog as well, I’d love your feedback on. God Bless!

  2. Beautiful post. Let me be a witness to the truth here. I couldn’t survive without my constant prayers. I need them now, more than ever before. It is the only way to survive and as time passes, all of us need to grab ahold of this. Times will continue to throw hardships our way and our only hope is looking up. Truly, that is our only hope now. This is good news because we will all realize the truth in the end, and that is the whole purpose of the suffering. To put our eyes in the right place. Looking up.

  3. Jeannie – that is so true! What an inspiring post. I’ve recently thought of a new solution to a very old problem, by changing my own perception.The solution was there all along, I just didn’t know it. What a timely post. Thank you. ~Patricia

    • Thank you Patricia!
      I think your solution is terrific! A different perspective is all we really need sometimes to improve the outlook of our situation.

      Have a great evening!

  5. On sort of a related note….I was just telling my daughter that today is over, we’ll never get it back, and to try to think of that occasionally. To make the best out of each and every day, because all of the sudden…life will just sweep you along until…you’re old! No. Make that middle-aged….

    Great post….and an important reminder!

  6. ummm, thoughtful post…..hubby thinks we people are like cows…..when one starts off in any direction, everyone follows with no idea of where, why and the end result!

    • I didn’t know either… interesting facts.
      This article reminded me so much of how I spend my days…just overwhelmed and frustrated. I needed a reminder, and thought this was just perfect.

      Have a great one, Leslie!
