Leather & Tiered…

Good Monday to you all!

I’m feeling a little bit of Rock ‘n’ Roll today!  This is what I call a concert get-up. It would be perfect for “The Boss” (Bruce Springsteen) concert…who by the way will be in Atlanta on March 18th!  Can anyone tell me why most concerts seem to be scheduled on a weekday or worse, on a Sunday evening? This is tough on people who has to show up for work the next day….especially if you are, shall we say, older?  Ah…to have the energy of a twenty something!

I doubt we’ll be able to rearrange our office schedule to attend the concert…. 😦

I’m linking up with Visible Monday and Monday Mingle.  Can’t wait to check out what the ladies are wearing.

I’d also like to thank Angel from angelandthings for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award. Angel is a beautiful university student in Ontario who finds time to blog about her love for fashion and beauty.

What a great time to be a college student!  I remember using a typewriter to write my papers!  The only communication method at my dorm was the phone in the hallway and the erasable message board on my door.  I still remember thinking how cool I was driving around the campus playing Earth Wind & Fire on my 8-track tape in my white Camero. Oh my!  Things have changed…haven’t they?  How did we EVER manage without cell phones, iPods and laptops?! 😉

Thank YOU for being here, and have a wonderful week!

  1. I bought my very first leather jacket only this year. It’s so versatile I love that I can pair it with jeans or skirts and even my summer dresses. I agree with you on the concert scheduling, I found the exact same thing in London too! Not sure about NYC hmm….

A little bit of rock chic suits you a lot!

    • Thanks Laura!
I think the zipper is suppose to be in the front…oh well, I like it in the back much better.
I actually have a great seamstress who does alterations for me. She works magic with her sewing machine!

  2. Looking amazing Jeannie!! That is a fabulous outfit, very chic & suits you so well! 🙂 In awe of your style as always, & congratulations on the Versatile Blogger nomination – absolutely deserved!! 🙂 xoxo

  3. You look edgy, cool and rocker chic. Definitely the perfect outfit for a rock concert. I know what you mean about late nights. I am just over 40 and feeling the sleepy bug whenever i hang out late with my girl friends.

    • Hi Mongs,
You’re still a baby in your early 40’s! I can’t stay up like I used to either…I don’t even need a clock, my body tells me what time it is…BED TIME! And, it’s only 10! 🙂

    • Haha, you know I’m usually in bed by 10! I also live about 2 hours from where the concert is to take place….girl, I’m waaaay too old for that. Throw in a back stage pass and I’m in!

  4. very snazzy and edgy while still being chic! the skirt is very similar to one i just thrifted and i may have to wear it with my leather jacket now… thanks for the inspiration!

  5. Your leather jacket is beautiful, and this would definitely be perfect for a concert. And I’m in my 20’s and I hate concerts that aren’t on Friday or Saturday nights… who wants to stay out late and then have to go to work the next morning, ever?!

  6. perfect in every way! love that skirt! i remember youth, being out late, say for a concert, then up and at’em for work next morning…….now, we know we can sleep in, or don’t go!

  7. I agree, concerts should be booked on weekends only, especially in Atlanta with our notorious rush hour traffic! We saw Bruuuuce the last two times he was here, but I don’t think we’re going to go this year. 😦

You look fabulous – I agree with everyone else, the skirt is fun and flirty!!

    Rock On!!

    • I know! I so wish we could go…
I just can’t imagine driving 2 hours back home, in the after concert traffic…we’re just too old for all that. I’m jealous you got to attend two of his concerts!
Maybe we can meet up next time he’s back in town! (if it’s on a weekend that is…):)

  8. What a gorgeous and edgy but feminine skirt. You look ready for the show.

Maybe take a vacation day on the Monday after the concert? It might be worth it 🙂

    • Thanks Adrienne!
      I talked to hubby about it…he’s my boss…sort of…
He has patients scheduled and it would be quite a chore to reschedule everyone to take that Monday off…it wouldn’t set a good example for our staff. I wish it was on a Friday or a Saturday. Hopefully, we’ll be able to catch him next time.

    • Thank you! I was going for a “leather & lace” look with this outfit…too bad it won’t get worn to the concert. 😦
I agree! Even a Friday would work for most working people.

  9. You wear the luscious, creamy whites like nobody I’ve ever seen. And your photos are lovely as always (if I keep reading your blog, I’m going to have to seriously upgrade my camera….and photography skills…and my wardrobe!).

And yes, it does amaze me that we did “scholarly” work without computers. I remember the manual typewriters, writing out by longhand first, and having to look up articles on microfiche or in bound periodicals! Yikes.

    • You are so sweet Anne! Thank you!
Oh…I do remember the hours and hours at the library searching & researching for papers! How did we ever manage?
As for photography skills, I have none. I’m fortunate to have a hubby who actually enjoys his new hobby….playing with his camera. 🙂
