Good Monday to you all!
I’m feeling a little bit of Rock ‘n’ Roll today! This is what I call a concert get-up. It would be perfect for “The Boss” (Bruce Springsteen) concert…who by the way will be in Atlanta on March 18th! Can anyone tell me why most concerts seem to be scheduled on a weekday or worse, on a Sunday evening? This is tough on people who has to show up for work the next day….especially if you are, shall we say, older? Ah…to have the energy of a twenty something!
I doubt we’ll be able to rearrange our office schedule to attend the concert…. 😦
I’m linking up with Visible Monday and Monday Mingle. Can’t wait to check out what the ladies are wearing.
I’d also like to thank Angel from angelandthings for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award. Angel is a beautiful university student in Ontario who finds time to blog about her love for fashion and beauty.
What a great time to be a college student! I remember using a typewriter to write my papers! The only communication method at my dorm was the phone in the hallway and the erasable message board on my door. I still remember thinking how cool I was driving around the campus playing Earth Wind & Fire on my 8-track tape in my white Camero. Oh my! Things have changed…haven’t they? How did we EVER manage without cell phones, iPods and laptops?! 😉

Thank YOU for being here, and have a wonderful week!

Wow ! You’ve such a great figure and this outfit really suits you, Ma’am !
Why, thank you Sanah! You are such a sweetie! 🙂
I bought my very first leather jacket only this year. It’s so versatile I love that I can pair it with jeans or skirts and even my summer dresses. I agree with you on the concert scheduling, I found the exact same thing in London too! Not sure about NYC hmm….
A little bit of rock chic suits you a lot!

Thank you! I totally agree about the leather jacket! It is SO versatile!
Happy weekend!
oh. oh. oh … I love this outfit! I would wear it in a heartbeat and feel super comfy in it! This one is me!
Haha! You rocker chick you! 🙂
Beautiful blog! Love your style and your sentiments! I look forward to visiting often!
Hi Marie,
Thank you so much!
I’m looking forward to your visits!! Don’t forget to let me know you’ve been here. 🙂
That skirt is adorable and I especially like the surprise of the exposed zipper. Everything looks made just for your body. Another winning outfit.
xLaura
Thanks Laura!
I think the zipper is suppose to be in the front…oh well, I like it in the back much better.
I actually have a great seamstress who does alterations for me. She works magic with her sewing machine!
Live on the wild side! Call off from work Monday!
Haha! I wish! Wild side only works for young folks…besides, I have a mean boss…hubby!
I love the contrast between the skirt and the leather jacket : rockmantic !!!

Rockmantic?!! I love it Christel!
Only you could have come up with that word…SO you!
Looking amazing Jeannie!! That is a fabulous outfit, very chic & suits you so well! 🙂 In awe of your style as always, & congratulations on the Versatile Blogger nomination – absolutely deserved!! 🙂 xoxo
Thank you my lady!
I appreciate you so very much! 🙂
loooooooooove it!!!
Hi V!
Thanks sweetie! Hope you’re doing well!! 🙂
You look edgy, cool and rocker chic. Definitely the perfect outfit for a rock concert. I know what you mean about late nights. I am just over 40 and feeling the sleepy bug whenever i hang out late with my girl friends.

Hi Mongs,
You’re still a baby in your early 40’s! I can’t stay up like I used to either…I don’t even need a clock, my body tells me what time it is…BED TIME! And, it’s only 10! 🙂
Jeannie my dear, you are totally rocking the outfit! Love it! And the bag too… hehe
Haha…I wish! Just having fun….
I really do like the bag…so light and the leather is yummy. My one and only Balenciaga.
I hope you’re feeling better?
I love Balenciaga bags.. they travel well. Thanks for your well-wishes.. Still coughing but guess letting the body fight off the ‘germs’ naturally.
Very sexy look! Also, I love that Springsteen is still touring. He really is The BOSS!

Thank you!
Bruce is 62 yrs old and still going strong!! I’d like to have whatever he’s having! 🙂
You look fantastic my little friend rocker chick! Hope you get to the concert and thanks, for stopping by!
Thanks Tammy!
I hope this week will be better for you!
Went to see The Boss and the E Street Band a few years ago, and i’m pretty sure the concert was over by 10pm! You can do it!
Haha, you know I’m usually in bed by 10! I also live about 2 hours from where the concert is to take place….girl, I’m waaaay too old for that. Throw in a back stage pass and I’m in!
actually did have backstage passes due to the kindness of the local convention and visitors bureau! fortunately, the tour was BEFORE the show. saw Little Steven in the elevator and about had a stroke…
Really? Why does that not surprise me? Before or after…don’t matter to me! Are you like a VIP? Can I be your bff?
very snazzy and edgy while still being chic! the skirt is very similar to one i just thrifted and i may have to wear it with my leather jacket now… thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks Liz!
You’re so welcome! I’d love to see your version when you do!!
Jeannie, you look way too cool for school. The highest compliment I can give you is that my teen girls would want to borrow your jacket and boots!
Haha! That would be a super complement!
Thank you! 🙂
Your leather jacket is beautiful, and this would definitely be perfect for a concert. And I’m in my 20’s and I hate concerts that aren’t on Friday or Saturday nights… who wants to stay out late and then have to go to work the next morning, ever?!
I’m so glad you feel the same! And, you’re young!
Thanks for your visiting!
Oh my, that Balenciaga! Love the leather.
Hi Jill,
I agree! The leather is TDF!
perfect in every way! love that skirt! i remember youth, being out late, say for a concert, then up and at’em for work next morning…….now, we know we can sleep in, or don’t go!
Thanks Judy!
Ah…to be young and reckless! That was sooooo long ago!
Now I can hardly stay up past 10!
I agree, concerts should be booked on weekends only, especially in Atlanta with our notorious rush hour traffic! We saw Bruuuuce the last two times he was here, but I don’t think we’re going to go this year. 😦
You look fabulous – I agree with everyone else, the skirt is fun and flirty!!
Rock On!!
elisa
I know! I so wish we could go…
I just can’t imagine driving 2 hours back home, in the after concert traffic…we’re just too old for all that. I’m jealous you got to attend two of his concerts!
Maybe we can meet up next time he’s back in town! (if it’s on a weekend that is…):)
EWF is my favorite band of all time! LOVE your rock n roll look girly! You feminize it so well! Hugs! ~Serene
My soul sista!
I used to listen to them all the time! How about Super Freak & Brick House by Rick James? Brings back so much fun memories!! 🙂
Wowowie that skirt is sexy! You look great on leather too. Happy Monday!
Gray Dress
Thank you Mary!
I do love the skirt…it’s soft & flirty.
Hope you had a good day!
What a gorgeous and edgy but feminine skirt. You look ready for the show.
Maybe take a vacation day on the Monday after the concert? It might be worth it 🙂
Thanks Adrienne!
I talked to hubby about it…he’s my boss…sort of…
He has patients scheduled and it would be quite a chore to reschedule everyone to take that Monday off…it wouldn’t set a good example for our staff. I wish it was on a Friday or a Saturday. Hopefully, we’ll be able to catch him next time.
Great mix of texture. I love that jacket!
Thank you Alicia!
Glad you stopped by! 🙂
You are looking awesome in that Rock N’ Roll outfit. 🙂
Thank you Adin!
I’m a big fan of 70’s rock n roll music. So many great bands from that era!!
this is stunning, yet again, you’re gorgeous.
So sweet Megan! Thank you!
love the mix of textures! That skirt is so pretty ❤ I think concerts should by default, be scheduled on a Satuday. It never makes sense to me either!
Thank you! I was going for a “leather & lace” look with this outfit…too bad it won’t get worn to the concert. 😦
I agree! Even a Friday would work for most working people.
Love the outfit and the dog is too funny! You’ve inspired me to posts some of my outfits too. I started today and even linked them up to a couple of the linky parties. Thanks!
That is SO awesome Sherry!
It’s fun and you get to meet so many lovely ladies….
I can’t wait to see more of your outfit posts!!
You wear the luscious, creamy whites like nobody I’ve ever seen. And your photos are lovely as always (if I keep reading your blog, I’m going to have to seriously upgrade my camera….and photography skills…and my wardrobe!).
And yes, it does amaze me that we did “scholarly” work without computers. I remember the manual typewriters, writing out by longhand first, and having to look up articles on microfiche or in bound periodicals! Yikes.
You are so sweet Anne! Thank you!
Oh…I do remember the hours and hours at the library searching & researching for papers! How did we ever manage?
As for photography skills, I have none. I’m fortunate to have a hubby who actually enjoys his new hobby….playing with his camera. 🙂
Lovely outfit – I am a huge fan of the black and white ensemble. I would defnitely go to the concert if possible! you only live once!
Thanks kittehluvs!
I wouldn’t hesitate if I were young like you! If I go, I’m staying the night at a hotel…don’t relish driving 2 hours after the concert to get home.
a hotel is a definite must! I look forward to a huge concert/music festival all year. It’s pandemonium but totally worth it! can’t wait to see you next outfit. aren’t you excited about the weather finally warming up? i am!
Yes I am! Although, it’s going to be in the 20’s tonight..burrr
You look gorgeous in that skirt and jacket! I love The Boss so much, I would be tempted to stay up all night to see him in concert : > Thanks for linking up to Visible Monday.
Thanks Patti!
I know…I’m tempted, too!
Beautiful set and very young, we like to fans of Bruce. The skirt is wonderful. I am glad you are fine and the storm hasn’t affected you.
Hi Josep,
Thank you so much!
We were very fortunate to have escaped the tornados that caused such destructions around this part of the country.
Looking great as always. You are most definitely a versatile dresser!
Thank you Sylvia! 🙂
