How brave are you? Do you venture out of your comfort zone?
This look…I call it the “grunge”, because that was the first thing that came to mind when I put it together. Needless to say, the look is quite youthful, but I’ve decided to experiment without judgement. As you can see, I’m venturing, and I have to thank blogging for my new-found bravery.
Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does. ~ Regina Brett
We had a wonderful time taking photos ~ felt young and carefree. Hubby captured my mood perfectly!
Do you see the beige layer under the dress? It’s my slip! It’s too long, but the added layer made this look just a bit grungier. Talk about bravery ~
I’m linking up with Visible Monday and Monday Mingle. Please go check out the wonderful ladies.

Ooh, great minds, right? I love your excursion out of your comfort zone and think the too-long slip is just brilliant. It is a bit grunge, but still gorgeous.

My favorite part of the outfit is that slip (contrast in color) at the bottom of your dress. Makes it SO interesting. Call it whatever you want..you look AMAZING!

Thank you Carly! The long slip happened by accident, but I’m taking the credit! 🙂
HOT!!!!! I love the off the shoulder look 🙂

I love this look. Youthful as you say but quite “black and tan” conservative, too. You balanced all the elements perfectly with the boots, leopard–and the unexpected slip. It rocks!!
Thanks Danielle! I’m rockin’..oh yea! lol 🙂
Wait, you’re 50? No way, I didn’t believe it and had to read your ‘about me.’ I would’ve guessed late 30s…early 40s max!! You look gorgeous! Beautiful outfit here. 😉

Oh Shucks, Kristin…thanks you so much! 🙂
Great outfit! I don’t think it looks grungy at all though. Rather it’s chic and simple. Very pretty.
Thanks Heather! I think its the boots…yea, kinda rough.

These photos are just so gorgeous. Off the shoulder is such a beautiful look for you.
Thank you Jill!
Off the shoulder was not planned…kinda happened…but I figured what the heck! It’s not like I was going to a PTA meeting…lol!
What a great idea with the slip! It looks FABULOUS like that! I always tell my kids, “You’ll DIE in your comfort zone” so I’m in complete agreement that we have to venture out regularly. Hugs to you! ~Serene
Hi Seren! Glad you feel the same! Life is short…we should venture out, experience all that we can in every facet of life. Sending a cyber hug your way as well!

Hi V! Thank you! The off shoulder was only for the shoot… no baring shoulders in public. Lol!
I wouldn’t call it grunge…I would call it perfect! Youthful…flattering fit…stylish…trendy…age appropriate…meets it all. I love your photo shoot!!
Wow! Thank you so much Pam!
Happy Lunar New Year!!
I LOVE this look – the slip is my favorite part! I have slips with lace bottoms specifically so they can be shown!! {I think I am a hippie/gypsy at heart!} You look fab Jeannie!
xo, sam
Thanks Sam!
It’s my first time showing off my slip..too bad I didn’t have a pretty one! Maybe next time! 😉
Happy Lunar Year to you , too!
I love the look and never would have guessed it was your slip at the bottom! Great idea… That dress also looks very comfortable 🙂
Hi Laura!
This dress is very comfy but kinda sheer so I put on my old slip, but it was too long. Tried to roll it up but it wouldn’t stay…then I noticed that it really looked better with it showing. Who knew?

Youthful is good…no, it’s great! Thanks Lady J!
You always looks so young and happy and can definitely pull of this look. I especially like it without the jacket and love the slip coming from underneath. The boots make if funky!
Thanks Sylvia! The boots are what pushed it over that fine line from average dress to a grungy look. I kind of like it. 🙂
Fantastic use of a beige denim jacket–it looks lovely with the black.
Thank you! My fav colors!
